In Pictures: Admiring blooming orange flowers on the first heritage tree in Quang Binh
A cotton tree in Hamlet 3, Thiet Son Village, Thach Hoa Commune, Tuyen Hoa District, Quang Binh Province, was recognised by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment as the Vietnamese Heritage Tree, marking it the first ancient tree in Quang Binh Province to win this title.

The flowers bloom vibrantly against the sky

The tree is about 25 meters tall with a canopy spreading approximately 20 meters wide. The trunk's diameter at the base is about 5-6 meters.

In spring, the tree blooms with beautiful orange flowers.

Unlike other cotton trees in northern provinces, with flowers typically red, the ancient tree in Thach Hoa boasts orange flowers.

The flowers usually bloom from March to April, with thick, five-petal flowers in a vibrant orange hue, enhancing the scenic beauty of the green mountains and forests.

The orange colour of the flowers adds a vibrant touch against the green backdrop of the hills, creating a serene environment for the white-cheeked gibbon troops in the area.

The tree grows under a limestone mountain, with a trunk so large that it would take ten people to encircle it.
