1. On June 16 2007, Quang Binh officially held the 50th anniversary of Uncle Ho visiting Quang Binh (June 16 1957 - June 16 2007). Among those attending the anniversary were delegates of the ministries, departments, organizations, neighboring countries, foreign visitors and Quang Binh people. Over the past fifty years, the Party Committee and people of Quang Binh followed Uncle Ho's advices, creating positive changes in all fields; the people's belief to the Party, authority and the process of renovation has been consolidated more and more firmly.

2. The leaders of the Party, State and Government visited and worked with Quang Binh province, including: General Secretary Nong Duc Manh; Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung; Mr. Ho Duc Viet, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Organization Board; Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai.

3. The largest flood in the history of sixty recent years, happened in the province's Northern districts, killed 16 people and injured 62, damaged and collapsed 386 houses, submerged 17,000 houses under the water, damaged over 6,000 ha of Spring - autumn crops and so on. Estimated total damages came up to VND 810 billion.

4. The province well organized the military exercises of defense area QB-07 with large scale and appreciated by the Ministry of Defense and the High Command of Zone IV. The success of the military exercises contributed to helping Quang Binh armed forces continue to lead in six provinces of the military zone's armed forces 2007 and honorably awarded the flag "Leading unit in emulation movement" by the Ministry of Defense.

5. In 2007, Quang Binh province achieved four highest indicators, namely: GDP achieved 11.63%, budget receipts reached VND726.2 billion; export turnover achieved US$53.5 million and industrial growth rate obtained 23.1%.

12 key projects were registered investment in Quang Binh, of which Quang Phuc Cement Project with its capacity of 2.4 million ton per year.

6. Dang Ngoc Thanh, a pupil of the Quang Binh Gifted high School won Silver Medal of the 48th International Mathematical Olympiad 2007. This is the highest achievement in Mathematics of Quang Binh pupil from 1989 to now.

The province's pupils passed the high-school finals made up 47%, a lowest rate over the past tens of years, representing the efficiency of implementing of "2 Nos Program" in education.

7. The Viet Nam - Cu Ba Dong Hoi Friendship Hospital directly managed by the Ministry of Health according to Decision No.1193/QD-TTg dated September 5 2007 of the Prime Minister. On September 30 2007, the provincial People's Committee held the hand-over ceremony of hospital for the receiving board of the Ministry of Health.
