Participants in the meeting were Deputy Head of the Provincial Anti-Corruption Steering Committee Vo Minh Doang; representative of the Provincial People’s Council, director of related departments and branches.Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Phan Lam Phuong, Head of the Steering Committee presided over the meeting.

In the first six months of 2008, the Provincial Anti-Corruption Steering Committee directed related agencies and units to study and effectuate strictly the regulations of Law on anti-corruption, Law on thrift-practice and anti-wastefulness; grasp thoroughly the 3rd Central Resolution (term X) on strengthening the Party’s leading to anti-corruption and anti-wastefulness. Besides, the Steering Committee coordinated with the Provincial People’s Committee to build and approve legal normative document on mechanism, norm, operational standards of organizations and units, carry out financial statement, implement administrative reform and renovate work of management. Coordinate with the Vietnamese Fatherland Front of Quang Binh province to propagandize and popularize on Anti-corruption Law, launch the people to denounce corruption behaviours, focus on directing and dealing with strictly the main corruption cases.

Under the plan for the second six months, the Provincial Anti-Corruption Steering Committee will focus on directing the relevant departments to accelerate work of inspection aiming at preventing and discovering timely corruption behaviours; creating favorable conditions for the complainants to denounce corruption behaviours, ensuring information secret and completely dealing with the discovered corruption cases.

Closing the meeting, Chairman Phan Lam Phuong applauded the efforts of the Steering Committee in anti-corruption and stressed that in the coming time, the Steering Committee need to focus on two main tasks, namely: work of prevention, discovery and settlement of corruption behaviours; strengthening work of propaganda and encouragement of units and individuals to strictly execute Law on anti-corruption, Law on thrift-practice and anti-wastefulness. Directing the related departments to promote work of inspection, prosecution, trial and settlement of corruption cases.
