The 12th session of the 15th Provincial People's Council ended

(Quang Binh Website) - On July 30 2008, the 12th session of the 15th Provincial People’s Council entered its third working day, on which the delegates answered voters’ questions, passed five resolutions and ended the session.

In the morning, the delegates raised questions for Directors of Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development, Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, Internal Affairs, Planning and Investment, Information and Communications, Electricity and Transport about fresh water and environmental sanitation; illegal logging; policies for wounded soldiers and martyrs, beneficiary family; personnel recruitment and administrative border.

In the afternoon, the session continued to answer voters’ petitions and questions and passed five resolutions, of which four were on special subjects and one was on implementation of the tasks for the socio-economic development in 2008.

Addressing the session, Chairman Phan Lam Phuong recorded the ideas and contributions of the delegates and the voters’ petitions and questions. Concurrently, he asked members of the Provincial People’s Committee and leaders of departments and branches, chairman of the People’s Committee of districts and city to focus on studying and checking real situation to have appropriate solutions for settlement, making the confidence in the people; continue to further activities in cultural and social fields, the poverty-alleviation programs and job creation; strengthen programs for developing education and health, ensuring security and national defense, social safety and order, contributing to socio-economic development. Focus on striving to complete targets and main tasks of the socio-economic development plan and budget estimate in 2008, creating favorable conditions for the deployment of tasks and plan of 2009 and implementation of the success of main targets of the five-year plan (2006-2010).

Delivering the closing speech, Mr Luong Ngoc Binh, Permanent Secretary of the Party’s Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council stressed that after three working days with high responsibility, the 12th session of the 15th Provincial People’s Council finished the proposed programs and passed five resolutions. In order to complete the success of targets and tasks for socio-economic development of 2008, Chairman Luong Ngoc Binh also asked all levels and branches as well as whole people to focus on comprehensively implementing solutions to curb inflation, ensure social security; promote and improve the quality and efficiency of agricultural, industrial and service production; practice thrift and anti-wastefulness. After the session, the delegates are responsible for reporting the session’s results to voters, encourage the people in executing Resolutions of the Provincial People’s Council, strengthen work of supervision in association with all level of governments to quickly deploy Resolutions of the Provincial People’s Council and timely settle difficulties and solve voters’ petitions and questions mentioned in the session.
