This is the second time the torch-light procession has been held by Ho Chi Minh City Television to commemorate the August Revolution and Independence Day which falls on September 2 every year. The torch is scheduled to cross 36 cities and provinces along the country, from Cao Bang Province in the north to the southernmost province of Ca Mau, before arriving at the Ho Chi Minh museum in Ho Chi Minh City on September 2 2008. This is a political and cultural activity to educate the tradition and learn about moral example of President Ho Chi Minh; contributing to promoting the meaning activities in implementing the campaign "Studying and following moral example of Ho Chi Minh" to all people nationwide.

Giving a speech at the ceremony, Vice-chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai stressed this is a significant event to increase the awareness of great value of moral example of Ho Chi Minh in the people’s spiritual life. This is also a favorable opportunity for young generation in the whole country in general and Quang Binh in particular to review the nation’s history.
