Implement the second phase of the Second Rural Energy Project

(Quang Binh Website) - On April 9 afternoon, the provincial People's Committee held a meeting to preliminarily sum up the first phase and deploy the implementation of the second phase of the Second Rural Energy Project (RE II). Vice-chairman of the PPC presided over the meeting.

The Second Rural Energy Project (RE II) is to rehabilitate, upgrade and newly build the rural low voltage network for 30 communes in 5 districts of Le Thuy (07 communes), Quang Ninh (07 communes), Bo Trach (05 communes), Quang Trach (08 communes) and Tuyen Hoa (03 communes) with the length of 462km. The project has been carried out from 2006 to 2010 with the total investment of 119,378 million VND So far, the project has been completed and put into use for 30 communes, contributing to promote the socio-economic development and solve jobs for hundreds of laborers in rural area.

The RE II second phase, with an estimated total investment of 153,250 billion VND, will be implemented in 30 communes in five districts of Tuyen Hoa (04 communes), Quang Trach (11 communes), Bo Trach (06 communes), Le Thuy (06 commune) and Quang Ninh (03 communes) with the total length of 491.546km. The project is expected to implement from 2009 to 2012.

Addressing the meeting, Vice-chairman of the PPC highly appreciated the obtained results of the first phase of the RE II project and ordered that the project management board need to closely coordinate with local authorities to speed up the progress of the implementation of the project in 30 communes, helping boost socio-economic development.

On this occasion, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee awarded the Certificate of Merit to seven collectives and six individuals for their excellent achievements.
