Vietnam Red Cross urges assistance for central provinces
The Vietnam Red Cross (VRC) called for the nation on October 6 to help people in the central provinces affected by heavy floods.
Under the appeal, the VRC urge all people, especially its members, volunteers and other individuals and organisations to provide assistance the central provinces of Nghe An, Quang Binh, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien-Hue to overcome the natural calamity and stablize their lives.
The VRC asked the local Red Cross associations to quickly evacuate people to safer regions, send food and drink and relief aid to people in flooded areas, provide medical aid to the injured, and maintain dykes.
A campaign for collecting money, food and clothing donations was launched nationwide and will last until November 15.
