DTiNews helps give orphans a brighter future
The money is intended to increase more accommodation space, hire more babysitters and buy clothes and equipment as the number of orphans at the center has now risen to 31.
In a meeting between DTiNews/Dantri representatives and the management board of the centre on Oct 16, the two sides agreed that with a total of 31 orphans, the current three rooms for accommodation with six babysitters was simply not enough.
On October 20, the center opened one more room, signed contracts with two more babysitters and bought items for children such as blankets, cradles and diapers.
Le Thi Thu Ha, director of the centre said that this year they has received the most support they ever have from the community.
“The timely support of DTiNews/Dantri and benefactors has considerably helped the centre to better take care of the orphans," said Ha.
Tran Dinh Nam, deputy director of the centre, said that the current situation is good and that living conditions for the children have been significantly improved.
“However, if the number of babies continues to rise, we will ask the province’s department of labour, invalids and social affairs to build more rooms," shared Nam.
So far, DTiNews/Dantri has given the centre VND 73 million (about USD 3,745) together with presents and gifts from readers.
