Overseas Vietnamese: donate over VND800 million to flood-hit people in Quang Binh

(Quang Binh Website) - The Provincial People's Committee on May 23 had a working session with the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs to receive money as relief aid for flood-hit people in Quang Binh to help them overcome difficulties.

Attending the working was Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang, Permanent Vice-chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Tran Duc Mau, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs and related departments and branches.

Receive over VND800 million to help flood victims in Quang Binh overcome flood consequences

Over the past time, overseas Vietnamese in many countries throughout the world have contributed over 800 million VND to help Quang Binh flood victims who affected by two floods in October, 2010. This donation will be expected to build houses to seven difficult households in four districts of Tuyen Hoa, Le Thuy, Quang Ninh and Bo Trach) and upgrade system of cannel in Ngan Thuy commune (Le Thuy district), contributing to create favorable conditions to assist people in production and economic development.

Addressing the working, Vice-chairman Nguyen Xuan Quang expressed his thanks and highly appraised the spirit of mutual affection of overseas Vietnamese to flood victims in Quang Binh. Vice-chairman promised that the province would direct and coordinate with relevant agencies and localities to effectively use above donation.
