Operation Smile Vietnam, in collaboration with Hue Odonto – Stomatological Hospital, performed the operations at the hospital.

Recipients of the free treatment were selected from among 100 children with congenital defects who received medical check-ups and treatment in Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien – Hue, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces.

In addition, the organisations involved also assisted children and their families with eating, drinking and transportation costs during the period of hospitalization.

Each year, about 3,000 children are born with hare lips and cleft palates in Vietnam. Since it was established in 1989, Operation Smile Vietnam has provided free surgeries for nearly 20,000 children with facial deformities across the country.
