Burial service for General Vo Nguyen Giap in Vung Chua - Yen Island
General Giap’s coffin was transported by special ART72 aircraft coded VN103 traveling from Noi Bai International Airport to Dong Hoi Airport for the interment. After the rites at Dong Hoi Airport, the General’s coffin was driven to the burial site on Rong cape, Vung Chua.
From the early morning, thousands of mourners from all corners of the nation gathered at Dong Hoi Airport to wait for the aircraft carrying the coffin of General Vo Nguyen Giap.

Along the 70km road from Dong Hoi Airport to the General’s final resting place, mourners flooded into both sides of National Highway No1 A to bid their farewell to the General.
Earlier, thousands of mourners converged on Vung Chua to their last respects to their beloved General. Mourners’ faces showed sorrow and grief while holding General Giap’s portrait.
