The event was attended by Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Nguyen Xuan Quang, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Le Van Phuc, Secretary of the Dong Hoi City Party Committee and representatives of related agencies and localities.

Groundbreaking ceremony of the Ba Don town drainage and sanitation project

The project is invested by the Quang Trach district People's Committee. The Management Board of Quang Trach ODA project is known as a representative for the investor.

The project aims to build a rain-water drainage system and sewage collection and treatment system, support environmental sanitation equipment, establish operational management to improve urban environment conditions, reduce environmental pollution and enhance the quality of life for people in the project area, contributing to promoting socio-economic development in the region and developing sustainable and stable urban area.

The project has a total investment of EUR13,586,906, including EUR8,980,000 is ODA from Denmark with reciprocal capital of EUR4,607,906 from Vietnam.

The project includes two contract packages, of which the contract package No.1 consists of design, construction and installation of sewage collection and treatment system; the contract package No.2 is to build rain-water drainage canal in Phooc bridge - Xuan Hung.

The project's general contractor is SUEZ Water A/S-SUEZ Interntionnal JV.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highlighted the project's importance and significance on social security to the Ba Don town's people in particular and Quang Binh in general.

On behalf of provincial leader, Chairman acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts made by Quang Trach district, Ba Don town and related agencies in work of preparation for officially launching the project.
Chairman asked the Management Board of ODA Quang Trach project in collaboration with the investor to ensure safety, technical quality and implementation progress, quickly putting the project into use and effectively promoting investment of the project.
