MoU signing to improve living condition for poor children in Quang Binh
The signing ceremony was attended by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Tien Dung; Ms. Sharon Kane, Country Director of Plan International Organization in Vietnam and representatives of the Office of the Provincial People's Committee, Department of Foreign Affairs and others.

Signing a Memorandum of Understanding on improving living conditions for poor children in Quang Binh in the period of 2017-2021.
At the ceremony, the two sides inked a Meomorandum of Understanding on improving living conditions for poor children in Quang Binh in the period of 2017-2021.
Accordingly, the programs and projects will be conducted in Le Thuy, Quang Ninh, and Minh Hoa districts during five fiscal years (January 1st, 2017 to June 30th, 2021) with a total estimated budget is USD 3,500,000.
The objectives are to achieve sustainable improvements in the life of disadvantaged children, through integrated child centered community development approach in areas such as early childhood care and development (preschool and primary school education); safe motherhood, anti-malnutrition among children; water and sanitation; sustainable livelihood; child protection; disaster risk management and climate change adaption; capacity building, and building sponsorship relationship.
In addition, the programs and projects also helps disadvantaged children in Quang Binh to realize their rights or their potentials, especially in terms of meeting basic needs for survival, development and participation of children; supports communities’ own development efforts focusing on children based on the needs identified, prioritized and proposals submitted by children and their community in the targeted communities; supports trainings to project holders in order to improve capacity and skills to meet requirements for the implementation and quality improvement of projects.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee highly appreciated the operational results of Plan International in Vietnam and committed to create favorable conditions for Plan International to effectively implement the programs and projects on improving living conditions for poor children in Quang Binh province in the period of 2017-2021, contributing to bringing practical benefits for local people.
