Zhishan Foundation Taiwan supports over VND2.3 billion for disadvantaged children in Quang Binh

(Quang Binh Portal) - The Provincial People"s Committee on May 22 issued Decision No.1783/QD-UBND on receiving a foreign non-governmental aid funded by Zhishan Foundation Taiwan through the project on supporting children with disadvantaged backgrounds in Quang Binh in 2017.  

Accordingly, Zhishan Foundation Taiwan grants a non-refundable aid of over VND2.3 billion to children with disadvantaged backgrounds in the province, helping them to continue their study, improve the quality of education, uphold the self-reliance and make contributions to the society.

The project includes some main activities such as granting scholarships to 792 disadvantaged pupils to return school, contributing to reducing the school dropout rate and helping them complete all study levels and develop career orientation; providing equipment for friendly library at five primary school in order to educate pupils to develop languages, thought, personality, emotion, aesthetic ethnics and self-learning habit.

The Provincial People's Committee asked the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs in coordination with related units and localities to receive and effectively use source of aid in line with the State's regulations on managing and using foreign non-governmental aid and other provisions.

Established in Taiwan on June 24, 1995 and issued licence of operation by the Vietnamese government, Zhishan Foundation Taiwan is a non-governmental organization, aiming to help pupils with disadvantaged backgrounds in the central provinces of Vietnam access to education and healthcare as well as help them feel self-reliance.
