Cyclists speed up to finish the 4th stage of "Returning to Truong Son" cycling tournament

The the 4th stage of the "Returning to Truong Son" cycling tournament lasting 145km started in Ha Tinh city and finished its 4th stage in front of the General Museum of Quang Binh province.

Nguyen Tan Hoai of Domesco Pharmacy Dong Thap won the 4th stage of the "Returning to Truong Son" cycling tournament. Nguyen Thanh Tam of Hat Ngoc Troi An Giang and Le Van Duan of VUS-HCM City were the runners-up.

Nguyen Cuong Khang of the HCM City Youth squad won the yellow jersey and Le Nguyet Minh of VUS-HCM City won green jersey as the best sprinter after four stages.

Also at the awarding ceremony, the organising board presented 02 houses of gratitude, 20 gift packages and 25 scholarships to policy beneficiary families and needy students in the province.

The "Returning to Truong Son" cycling tournament is organised by Quan Doi Nhan Dan (People’s Army) newspaper in coordination with the Vietnam Cycling Federation (VCF), as one activity to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the War Invalids' and Martyrs' Day (July 27th, 1947 - July 27th, 2017).

The event aims to encourage cycling nationwide, improve cyclists’ skills and preparations for international tournaments.

It is also a chance for the organising board, social activists and people nationwide to pay tribute to martyrs, war invalids, Vietnamese heroic mothers and State policy beneficiary families.

The six-day event draws the participation of 70 cyclists from 12 men’s teams, including two guest teams from Laos and Thailand.

The race runs nearly 750km from the capital city on July 15th through the provinces and cities and finishes in Quang Tri province in the central region on July 20th.
