In 2018, the Provincial People's Council approved the general objectives of the socio-economic development plan with a focus on ensuring economic stability and growth, speeding up economic restructuring, especially agricultural and service sectors in association with renovating the growth model, enhancing productivity, quality, efficiency and competitiveness; developing tourism to become a key economic sector; ensuring a favorable business and investment climate; creating all conditions to accelerate the progress of implementing key projects; coping with climate changes and preventing natural disasters; strengthening efficiency of resources management and environmental protection; improving quality of education, health, culture and sports; ensuring democracy and social equity; promoting poverty alleviation towards sustainable way, ensuring social security; strengthening disciplines and rules, ensuring national defence, security, enhancing efficiency of State management, foreign activity and international integration.

Striving by 2018, the province's economic growth rate reaches 7%; budget revenue reaches VND 3,500 billion; 3.5-3.6 ten thousand laborers are provided with jobs; rate of poor households reduces by 2.5% against 2017; rate of forest cover reaches 67%, etc.

At the meeting, participants focused on discussing main tasks and solutions to effectively implement the plan on socio-economic development in 2018; strengthening work of budget management to ensure regulations and efficiency in the new period.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee asked the departments and branches, the People's Committee of districts, city and town to strictly implement the assigned tasks, striving to complete and exceed the plan.

Chairman also asked all levels and localities to invest in infrastructure construction, improve the quality of tourism services, call upon investment, promote tourism potentials, develop social culture, speed up poverty alleviation and improve the people's life; pay attention to administrative reform and investment climate, enhance the provincial-level competitiveness ability; further propaganda on guidelines and policies for socio-economic development; strengthening national defence - security, ensuring social safety and order in the province.
