The remains were found and repatriated by Team 589 of the provincial Military High Command after six months of collecting information and carrying out searches during the 2019-2020 dry season.
The outcome was also attributed to the support and close coordination of Quang Binh authorities and their counterparts from Laos' Khammouane province.
Hundreds of locals were present at the ceremony to offer incense in commemoration of the deceased whose sacrifices had contributed to cementing the special friendship and solidarity between Vietnam and Laos.
