At the meeting, Colonel Nguyen Van Phuc highly appreciated the relationship and close sentiment of Vietnam and Laos forces over the past years and committed to tighten the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Quang Binh and Khammuon in general and Quang Binh Provincial Border Guards with Khammuon Provincial Department of Security and Military Headquarters in particular.

The two sides also exchanged results in cooperation, border situation, work of landmark post planting and demarcation, security and order at border areas as well as cross-border criminals, especially the efficient cooperation in controlling drug-smuggling and border-crossing, contributing to maintain political security and social order and safety at border areas.

The two sides also discussed and agreed on orientations in coordination in the coming time, including the focus on embellishing national landmarks, patrol at border; exchanges at provincial level and among border posts and organization of activities in celebration of 50th anniversary of Vietnam-Laos diplomatic ties on September 5th, 35th anniversary of the signing of comprehensive cooperation and friendship treaty between the two countries and Vietnam-Laos Friendship, Solidarity Year of 2012.

The Vietnamese mission also paid a new year call at Na Phau International Border Custom Gate and Police Station.

On this occasion, Colonel Nguyen Van Phuc handed over VND 10 million to Drug Control Unit under Khammuon Department of Security as an award for their achievements in implementing the case coded 512 Lv that ended on March 28th, 2012 and presented gifts to participating forces.
