At the conference, Ha Minh Hai, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Commission, announced the Politburo’s decisions to mobilize, assign and appoint Vuong Quoc Tuan, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Committee, to join the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee and serve as Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term. The Politburo also decided to mobilize, assign and appoint Bui Hoang Phuong, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, to join the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee and serve as Deputy Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.

In his remarks assigning the new responsibilities, Mr. Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Politburo member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Organization Commission, congratulated Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan and Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong on being entrusted by the Politburo with their new responsibilities. He expressed his confidence that the two officials would continue to draw on their experience and capabilities and successfully fulfill the tasks assigned to them.

At the same time, he also called on the Executive Committee and Standing Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee, as well as leaders of agencies and sectors at all levels, to continue promoting solidarity, unity and mutual support, working together with the newly assigned officials to lead and direct the successful implementation of the province’s objectives and tasks, thereby contributing to Quang Tri’s strong development in the coming period.

Speaking upon assuming his new position, Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan expressed his sincere thanks to the Politburo, the Party Central Committee Secretariat and the Central Organization Commission for entrusting him with the position of Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee. He also thanked the Party organization, authorities and people of Quang Tri Province for welcoming him and creating favorable conditions for him to undertake his new responsibilities.

Emphasizing that his new position is both an honor and a great responsibility to the provincial Party organization and people, Mt. Vuong Quoc Tuan affirmed that he would devote himself to his duties and work together with the Executive Committee, Standing Committee and Standing Board of the Provincial Party Committee to focus on leading and directing the implementation of political tasks, promoting Quang Tri’s potential and advantages, and creating new momentum for the province's development.

Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan identified several immediate priorities, including strengthening solidarity and unity within the Party Committee; upholding principles, discipline and administrative order; and renewing personnel work toward substantive evaluation, using results, concrete outputs, implementation effectiveness, and the satisfaction of people and businesses as the basis for assessment. He also emphasized the need to build a contingent of officials who are exemplary and proactive, willing to think boldly, act decisively, take responsibility, and pursue innovation. In socio-economic development, the province will focus on concretizing and effectively implementing the resolutions and conclusions of the Party Central Committee and the Resolution of the First Congress of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Organization. It will also carry out five key task groups, three strategic breakthroughs and four development pillars, associated with the orientation of “reaching eastward and spreading westward.” These efforts aim to mobilize and maximize the province's potential and advantages, striving to turn Quang Tri into a new growth pole in central Vietnam and a national hub for energy, seaports, logistics and distinctive tourism.

He stressed the need to remove bottlenecks in infrastructure, institutions and resources; accelerate strategic projects in energy, transport, airports, seaports and logistics; and create a favorable environment for attracting capable investors with advanced technologies and long-term commitments. At the same time, the province will strengthen regional connectivity and promote its role as a gateway connecting with Laos, Thailand and the Mekong subregion. It will develop integrated marine, forest and border areas in association with high-tech agriculture, processing industries, renewable energy, the forest economy and eco-tourism. In tourism, Quang Tri will continue to effectively tap its advantages in caves, natural landscapes, beaches and its rich historical and cultural heritage, gradually making tourism a key economic sector and striving to achieve double-digit growth in 2026 and throughout the 2026 - 2030 period.

Regarding the heavy rains and flooding in recent days, Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan expressed his sympathy for the difficulties and losses suffered by local residents. He affirmed that he would work with the Provincial Party Committee’s Executive Committee to direct efforts to overcome the consequences, soon restore people’s livelihoods and production, and identify disaster prevention and proactive adaptation to the province’s geographical conditions as a regular and long-term task.

Secretary of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan expressed his hope for continued leadership and direction from the Party Central Committee, as well as coordination and support from central commissions, ministries and agencies. He also called for the continued support of the political system, people and business community of the province. He expressed his belief that, with its resilient tradition and strength of solidarity, the Party organization, authorities, people and business community of Quang Tri will work together to usher the province into a new stage of development, making it a strongly developing, livable land offering abundant opportunities for the future.

Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, born in 1977, is a native of Kinh Bac Ward, Bac Ninh Province. He holds a PhD in Business Administration and a Master’s degree in Educational Management, and has completed the advanced-level political theory program.

Mr. Bui Hoang Phuong, born in 1983, is a native of Ninh Binh Province. He holds an advanced-level political theory qualification, a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Information Technology, as well as a master’s degree in Business Administration.
