Provincial People's Committee Receives Delegation of Government and Business Representatives from the Lohmen Region, Federal Republic of Germany

On the afternoon of July 17, 2026, Mr. Hoang Nam, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, received and held a working session with a delegation of government and business representatives from the Lohmen region, Rostock District, the Sate of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Federal Republic of Germany, led by Mr. Bernd Dikau, Mayor of the Lohmen region, Landkreis Rostock.

Also attending the reception and working session were Mr. Nguyen Huu Trang, former Ambassador of Vietnam to the Federal Republic of Germany, along with representatives of relevant provincial departments, agencies, and enterprises.

At the reception, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Hoang Nam welcomed the delegation on its visit and working trip to the province. He also expressed his sincere appreciation to Mr. Nguyen Huu Trang, former Ambassador of Vietnam to the Federal Republic of Germany, for his continued support and active role in fostering connections and creating opportunities for Quang Tri Province and the Lohmen region, Rostock District, to meet, exchange views, and open up new prospects for cooperation.

Introducing the province's potential, advantages, and development orientation, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam stated that Quang Tri Province covers an area of approximately 12,700 km² and has a population of nearly 1.87 million, comprising 78 commune-level administrative units. With its strategic location along the North - South transport corridor and as the eastern gateway of the East - West Economic Corridor, together with its system of international border gates, airport, deep-water seaport, and more than 190 km of coastline, the province possesses significant potential for the development of the marine economy, logistics, industry, energy, tourism, and services.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Hoang Nam also noted that Quang Tri Province has identified its key development pillars for the coming period as the marine economy, seaports and logistics; renewable and clean energy; coastal, ecological, historical, and cave tourism; high-tech agriculture, organic agriculture, and the circular economy. At the same time, the province is promoting digital transformation, innovation, and green growth. On that basis, he expressed his hope that the delegation would serve as a bridge to connect the province with universities, research institutes, associations, and businesses in the state of Mecklenburg -Vorpommern to foster cooperation in renewable energy, the circular economy, environmental technology, waste treatment, green material production, technology transfer, and human resource development.

In addition, the Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee expressed his hope that both sides would maintain regular information exchange, organize business networking activities, exchange specialized delegations, and promote investment. He also encouraged businesses in the Rostock region to explore investment opportunities in Quang Tri Province, while studying the possibility of establishing a friendly cooperative relationship between Quang Tri Province and a suitable locality in Rostock District.
