Attending the meeting was Permanent Vice-chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai; representatives of departments and branches and related units in the province.

From July 1st 2009, Vietnam Airlines will officially operate Dong Hoi - Ho Chi Minh air route with planes model Fokker, 3 times a week every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Flights from Dong Hoi will take off at 08:45 am and arrive in Ho Chi Minh City at 10:20 am; from Ho Chi Minh City at 11:10 am and arrive in Dong Hoi at 12:45 pm. It is known that this is the second air route of Vietnam Airlines to Dong Hoi. Formerly, Vietnam Airlines launched Dong Hoi - Ha Noi route with 3 times a week in 2008.

At the meeting, delegates spent much time to discuss about the organization plan for inauguration ceremony of Dong Hoi - Ho Chi Minh route and master plan of Hon La Port to report to the Ministry of Transportation for Prime Minister’s approval.

Giving a closing speech, Province Chairman Phan Lam Phuong asked related agencies and units to further propagation on inauguration ceremony of Dong Hoi - Ho Chi Minh route in Quang Binh, Ho Chi Minh City and Ha Noi, concurrently coordinate with Vietnam Airlines to approve the content for propagation. Besides, Chairman Phuong also asked agencies and units to focus on the implementation of the organization plan for inauguration ceremony of Dong Hoi - Ho Chi Minh route in order to ensure the ceremony successfully and leave a good impression.

Regarding Hon La port for 2020-2030 period, Chairman Phan Lam Phuong stressed that Hon La port is a local port (grade II) under the Vietnam Seaports System. He also expressed his opinion of opening the coal port to serve for Quang Trach Thermo-electric Plant for 1st phase; concurrently suggested the Ministry of Transport that in the Vietnam Seaports System Master Plan till year 2020 and orientation to year 2030, Hon La port should has cement and clinker berth; the scale of wharf has a capacity to receive vessels from 3,000-5,000 tonnes.
