In July and first seven months of this year, despite of meeting many difficulties and challenges, the province's socio-economic situation was still stable and had a fair growth rate. Most of assigned targets achieved and exceeded the plan. Concretely, as of late July, 2009, the total area under cultivation of Spring-autumn crop was 27.664 ha, equaling 100.7% against the same period, of which paddy area increased by 0.7% against the same period, achieved 102% of the plan. The output of rubber latex in July was estimated achieving 480 tonnes, increasing by 43.4% against the same period; the output of pine resin in July was estimated to achieve 250 tonnes, increasing by 7.1% against the same period. The total output of fishery in July was estimated at 6,575.3 tonnes, achieving 66.4% of the plan. The industrial production value in July was estimated achieving VND278.7 billion, increasing by 18.1% against the same period. Capital construction investment was estimated at VND104 billion, achieving 51.4% of the plan, increasing by 14.7% compared with the same period. In first seven months of this year, ODA projects were reimbursed VND14.5 billion, achieving 20.5% of the plan. Of which, five projects were issued by Certificate of Investment with the total invested capital of VND36.84 billion. As estimated, there were 90,000 tourists to Quang Binh province in July, of which international arrivals were 1,225 passengers. The total retail sales of goods and services in July achieved VND609.3 billion, increased by 16% compared with the same period... Many positive changes have been seen in the fields of education, health, culture and sport. National defence and security, social safety and order have been basically upheld.
