The province’s socio-economic situation in January of 2011 has developed stably. Some targets have achieved fairly and increased over the same period. Area under cultivation for the Winter - Spring crop was 45,150 ha, equal to 102.7% compared to the same period. A total output of cultivated fishery reached 452.8 tons, up 17.9% compared to the same period. Industrial production value reached 281.4 billion VND, up 20.3% compared to the same period. Construction investment capital was estimated at 67.9 billion VND, of which 10.6 billion VND under the Central management and 57.8 billion VND under the local management. The total retail sales of goods reached 984.2 billion VND, up 32.5% over the same period. Value of export turnover reached 12.6 million USD, up 5.7%. The total budget revenue reached 81.6 billion, achieved 6% of estimate. A lot of big changes have been seen in social-cultural fields. National defence and security, social safety and order have been upheld. The life of people has been improved step by step.

Provincial People’s Committee’s January 2011 regular meeting

Addressing the meeting, Chairman Nguyen Huu Hoai focused more attention on some main duties such as cultivating and preventing pestilent insect for rice, vegetables and industrial crops; setting up the plan to take initiative in regulating source of water; frequently monitoring and implementing solutions to prevent cold weather and epidemic disease for cattle and poultry. Chairman asked departments and branches to continue to deal with difficulties for businesses to promote business production. In the coming time, Chairman ordered related departments and branches to research expansion of land fund to take advantage of human resource for socio-economic development; accelerate the progress of implementing key projects such as Bao Ninh 60 meters long road, bridge and road to Van Hoa commune, Trung Quan bridge, provincial road No.16, road connecting Tuyen Hoa Cement Industrial Park to Hon La Economic Zone, Chau Hoa bridge, Nhat Le bridge No.2, multifunctional sporting hall and so on.
