Quang Binh provides solar battery power to mountainous communes

(Quang Binh Website) - The Quang Binh Power Company said that Village 61 in Thuong Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province has been recently provided with solar battery power, generating 11KW of electric power. This region is in the conservation area of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park and is not provided with electric power from the national grid.

The project, which is invested by the Schneider Electric Vietnam Company with a total invested capital of 3.53 billion VND, will provide electric power for 35 households, a school, border station No.593 and customs post of Ca Roong border gate.

Thuong Trach commune, Bo Trach district, Quang Binh province is in the Vietnamese - Laotian border, has the Ca Roong border gate bordering with Khammuoane province. Together with Tan Trach commune, this is one of two remote communes of Quang Binh province under the conservation area of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park and is not provided with electric power from the national grid.

According to Prof. Dr Hoang Duong Hung from Dang Nang University, the advantages of solar battery power are that it has the ability to integrate with the national grid or operate independently and this energy is able to install anywhere the sun shines.

With the mountainous terrain and difficult traveling, the long-time dream of the A Rem ethnic people living in the area is to be provided with electricity.
