Chairman of the provincial People's Council speaks at the opening ceremony of the session

The session was co-chaired by Mr. Luong Ngoc Binh, Member of the Central Party Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Council, and members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Council.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Luong Ngoc Binh stressed that the 8th session is a mid-year session of the provincial People's Council with a focus on discussing and deciding a wide range of major issues of the province. Especially, this is the first time that the Provincial People's Council will carry out the implementation of direct supervision on personnel issues and the vote of confidence for key posts in the state apparatus of the province.

In order to achieve good results, Chairman Binh asked that deputies need to raise their role and responsibility, uphold the democracy, contribute the qualified ideas and take practical measures in accordance with the province’s socio-economic situation, contributing to successfully implementing the socio-economic development plan for 2013.

At the session, the provincial People's Council would directly hear and discuss 13 reports and statements and adopt 4 resolutions with a focus on evaluating the implementation of socio-economic development tasks of the province.

In the first working day, deputies focused on evaluating the implementation of socio-economic development, national defense and security and law execution in the first six months of 2013; operation results of the provincial People’s Council, People’s Court and People’s Procuracy in the first half of 2013; ideas and petitions of the people before the 8th session and investigation reports made by the Departments of the Provincial People’s Council...
