Chairman of the Provincial People's Council speaks at the session

After three working days with the spirit of responsibility, urgency, seriousness, and democracy, the 5th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council successfully ended, contributing to completing all contents and the agenda of the 17th Provincial People's Council's 5th session.

Speaking at the session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai received ad highly appreciated delegates' opinions on socio-economic development situation in the first six months of 2017 and put forward major solutions on socio-economic development tasks in the second six months of 2017.

According to the report of socio-economic development in the first six months of 2017, the province's economic growth rate grew by 6.25%; value of agro, forestry and fishery rose by 6.5%; industrial production value went up to 6.3%; value of service sectors increased by 6.9%; production of Spring-winter crop reached 206,530 tons, up 1.7% from the same period last year and exceeded 7.2% of the plan; budget revenues reached VND 1,636 billion, up 20% from the same period last year and reached 50.3% of local estimate. Many positive changes have been seen in education, healthcare, social security and national defences and security.

In order to successfully implement the socio-economic tasks in 2017, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee focused on seven key tasks such as developing services and tourism to be a key economic sector; paying attention to poverty alleviation and creating jobs for laborers; strengthening socialization in development investment; facilitating the projects carried out in the province; striving to reach budget revenue of over VND 3,500 billion; implementing the project of provincial-level public administrative center in the 4th quarter of 2017; speeding up environmental protection; strengthening national defence - security.

In this session, the 17th Provincial Poeple's Council discussed and approved 15 important resolutions, aiming to create a legal corridor for management and administration of the Provincial People's Committees and authorities at all levels. This will be a basis to build the master plans and socio-economic development plan of the province. In particular, there are a number of resolutions to address urgent issues in the social life and aspirations of the people in the province.

In his conclusion speech, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council affirmed that the 5th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council successfully ended with completing its contents and agenda. Chairman applauded and highly evaluated the direction, administration and implementation of socio-economic tasks in the first six months of 2017.

Measures in need of concentrated implementation to solve difficulties and promote development were also specified by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Council.

In order to successfully implement the Resolution adopted by the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Council suggested the Provincial People's Committee, departments and agencies to deploy as many as new resolutions effectively and successfully; continually improve the effective and quality answers for the questions and comments of voters; strengthen further the activities of supervision; enhance the delegates' roles and responsibilities in questioning the hot issues that voters in the province care about; speed up propaganda and dissemination of resolutions to all people, aiming to create a high unanimity in the process of deploying and supervising the implementation of resolutions, etc.
