Industrial production index in July was estimated to increase 1.8% against last months and 6.9% from July of 2016. Of which, the mining industry grew by 6.3%; the processing and manufacturing increased by 5.7%; the electricity production and distribution increased by 3.9%; water supply and waste and waste water treatment increased by 3.6%.

With regard to trade activity, total retail sales of consumer goods and services in the first seven months reached 1,820 billion dong, up 2.9% over last month and 1.2% over the same period last year. Of which, private economy reached VND 4,367.6 billion, rose by 9.6%; individual economy reached VND 7,195.4 billion, up 9.6%; State economy reached VND 626.5 billion, increased by 16.1% over the same period last year.

In addition, by sector, retail sales of goods in the first seven months were estimated at VND10,413.3 billion, up 9.4% over the same period last year. Revenue from accommodation and catering services in the first seven months of this year was estimated at VND 1,082.1 billion, increased by 42.4% over the same period last year. Revenue from tourism was estimated at VND151.5 billion, rose by 26.1 percent over the same period last year.
