Index of industrial production was estimated at an increase of 7.4% from the same period last year (the plan is up 8.5%). Industrial production value was estimated to realize more than 10.600 billion dongs, reached 99% of the plan and increased by 8.3% (the plan is up 9.5%).

Some products were higher than the same period of 2016 such as construction stone, up 5.5%; frozen shrimp, up 4%; cassava, up 7.5%; shirt, up 14.8%...

Besides, some localities have developed new products such as exported bamboo and rattan, palm-leaf conical hat, fine art woods, wine production..., contributing to solving many jobs and improving income for local laborers.

In addition, domestic trade activity has seen a growth; infrastructure has been upgraded; quality of goods has been improved with many abundant and diversified models, meeting the people's demand of comsumption.

Work of market management, anti-smuggling, trade fraudence, counterfeit commodities have been strengthened; the market price has been stabilized, ensuring the balance of supply and demand of important materials and consumer goods.

Besides, some new tours have attracted a large number of visitors to Quang Binh, contributing to promoting the growth rate in tourism and services. Total retail sales of goods and services were estimated to reach VND 21.300 billion, reached 98.7% of the plan and grew by 9.8% from the same period of 2016.

By the economic sectors, total retail sales of goods reached VND 18,082 billion, rose by 8.9%; turnovers from hotels and restaurants reached VND 1,756 billion, up 18.1%; from tourism activity reached VND 212 billion, up 25.9%; from other services reached VND 980 billion, up 8.0% from the year of 2016.

In 2018, the sector of industry and trade focuses on promoting the efficiency of new industrial production establishments such as S&D Quang Binh Garment Factory for the second phase, the aluminium production plant of the New Asia Limited Company, the waste treatment, biogas and organic fertilizer production plant; unrefined brick manufacturing factory, etc.

The index of industrial production (IIP) strives to increase by 7.6% from the same period last year; industrial production value reaches VND 11.500 billion, up 8.5% from the year of 2017; total retail sales of goods and service turnovers reach more than VND 23,000 billion, up 10% from the year of 2017, so on.
