Fish worshipping festival in Quang Binh
Every year, on the first Full Moon Festival of the Lunar New Year, fishermen in Quang Binh province gather to celebrate Cau Ngu (Fish Worshipping Festival.
The festival took place in Canh Duong commune, Quang Trach district on February 19. The annual festival aims to honour the cultural values of the nation but also reflects the spiritual life of people living in the country coastal areas.
During the festival, all elders, clan leaders, village heads, ship-owners, fishermen and local people prayed for safe fishing journeys, a prosperous, peaceful life and a bumper catches ahead.
The national intangible cultural heritage festival hold rich cultural values and also has significant meaning in educating patriotism while consolidating the community.
