2,800 people in Quang Binh taken home from Covid-19 hotspots
The trains have been scheduled to leave HCM City on October 8-9 and travel through Binh Duong and Dong Nai provinces to pick up more people. The first departed Saigon Station on Friday morning, transporting 400 people, including pregnant, old people, students and children below six.

Nguyen Thi Kim Sinh and her two children were among the passengers on the train. Sinh said that her family had to live in a very small room in HCM City.

Nguyen Thi Lan, 51, said that he had been unemployed for four months in HCM City. She wanted to return home but she couldn’t due to social distancing measures.

This is the second time Quang Binh has helped local residents return home from Covid-19-hit southern localities. Earlier, around 400 people were brought home by air.

The prioritised people are pregnant women, women whose children are under one year, students and old people.
