On October 28, at the 3rd session (8th term), the Provincial People's Council passed a resolution to dismiss Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang from the position of Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council for the 2021-2026 term.

According to the resolution, the reason for the dismissal is that Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang was appointed to hold the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Mr. Nguyen Chien Thang (born in 1976, from Quang Tri province), has a university degree in Civil and Industrial Construction, and a Senior degree in Political Theory.

He has held the following positions: Chairman of Dong Ha City People's Committee, Secretary of Dong Ha City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Council (old). After the merger of Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces, he holds the position of Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Tri province.
