A total of 397 pupils and students with good study results in the central provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh have received Vallet scholarships worth over 1.6 billion VND. Of which, Quang Binh has 282 poor pupils and students who achieved outstanding results in study. Accordingly, each of the pupils received a scholarship worth 4 million VND and each student got 6 million VND.

Prof. Odon Vallet, a history lecturer at the Paris-based Sorbonne University, France, set up the Odon Vallet Foundation to grant scholarships to poor students who achieve outstanding results in study and scientific research in France and Vietnam.

Addressing the ceremony, Vice-chairman of the provincial People's Committee extended his deep gratitude to Prof.Doc Odon Vallet, Prof.Doc Tran Thanh Van and French "Meeting Vietnam" organisation for their contributions to Vietnam's educational sector in general and the central provinces of Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Ha Tinh in particular. He also hoped that these students would continue to uphold the spirit of learning and try the best to contribute to build the motherland more and more prosperous.
