Launched Tet tree-planting festival in Lunar New Year 2015
(QuangBinh Portal) - Dong Hoi City launched 2015’s Tet tree-planting festival on February 24 at Road 23/8.
At the launching ceremony was Mr. Luong Ngoc Binh, Secretary of of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council; Mr. Hoang Dang Quang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Nguyen Huu Hoai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and representatives of relevant departments, branches and local authorities in the province.
At the launching ceremony, the provincial top leaders called upon those from all walks of life to join efforts towards reforestation and forest protection.
Tet tree-planting festival in Lunar New Year 2015 has become a tradition, has contributed greatly to the cause of protecting and developing forests, thus preserving the sound environment for province socio-economic development.
The Tet tree-planting festival is an annual activity initiated by late President Ho Chi Minh in 1959.
