Golden West Humanitarian Foundation funds US$242,000 for building capacity for landmine and UXO clearance
The project will establish a center for training landmine and UXO clearance for the Provincial Headquarter of Military with a total area of 50m x 50m; provide knowledge and technique on landmine and UXO clearance for the province's units according to the International Mine Action Standards (IMAS); supply machines and equipment for landmine and UXO clearance; introduce advanced methods and system of collecting UXO materials, etc.
The project will last from March to December, 2016.
The objective of the project is to provide knowledge and capacity for landmine and UXO clearance according to IMAS as well as improve and update essential establishments and equipment to train and carry out landmine and UXO clearance in the province.
The Provincial People's Committee asked the Department of Foreign Affairs and related units and localities to receive and use the source of aid effectively in accordination with the regulations.
