7th conference of industrial and trade sector of six north central provinces

 (Quang Binh Portal) - The Department of Industry and Trade on August 5th held the 7th conference of industrial and trade sector of six North Central provinces. The event was attended by Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People"s Committee Nguyen Xuan Quang; representatives of the Department of Industry and Trade of six North Central provinces, namely Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue.

Over the past time, industrial production in the North Central region has seen positive results. Concretely, industrial production value of six provinces was VND164,839 billion in 2016, reached 99.9% of the plan, increased 16% from the same period of 2015 and VND 85,034 billion in the first six months of 2017, rose by 9.6% from the same period of 2016. Main industrial products such as shirt, cassava, fertilizer, cement, clinker, coal... have remained a fair growth.

Total retail sales and services reached VND231,586 billion in 2016, went up to 11.6% from the same period of 2015 and VND125,199 billion in the first six months of 2017, rose by 5.9% from the same period of 2016.
In the second six months of 2017, the industrial and trade sector of six North Central provinces strives to reach industrial production value of VND97,175 billion; total retail sales and services of VND135,703 billion.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee acknowledged obtained results of the industrial and trade sector in North Central region in the past time.

It, however, still remains a poor region, therefore, in order to promote obtained results, Vice Chairman asked related departments and branches to have solutions and policies to improve investment climate, mobilize resources for economic development, speed up enterprises to improve quality of products, strengthen effectiveness in State management, etc.
