Chairman of the provincial People’s Council presented flowers to former chairman and new chairman of the provincial People’s Committee

Then, with the form of secret ballot, delegates of the provincial People's Council agreed to elect Mr. Tran Cong Thuat, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee cum Head of the provincial National Assembly delegation as Chairman of the provincial People's Committee. With the approval votes of over 93.87%, Mr.Tran Cong Thuat was elected as Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee for the 2016-2021 tenure. The provincial People's Council also issued a resolution confirming above election result and assigned the Standing Committee of the provincial People's Council finalize documents and submit to the Prime Minister for approval of the election result.

Addressing after being elected as Chairman of the provincial People’ s Committee, Mr. Tran Cong Thuat expressed that this is a great honor but also heavy responsibilities for himself. Time from now until the end of the term is very short, there are mixed advantages and disadvantages with many opportunities but also various challenges. This situation requires efforts, high determination of the political system, of all levels, branches, army and people as well as of the business communities in the province.

Mr. Tran Cong Thuat was born on 27 June 1961 in An Ninh commune, Quang Ninh district, Quang Binh province. He was awarded with Bachelor of Biology Pedagogy, Master of Business Administration. Prior served as Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, he used to hold positions: Standing Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee, Secretary of Dong Hoi city Party Committee.
