Provincial People's Committee holds regular meeting in May
(Quang Binh Portal) - On the morning of May 30, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee held a regular meeting to assess the socio-economic situation in May and the first 5 months of 2025. The meeting was chaired by Comrade Doan Ngoc Lam, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee.
In May and the first 5 months of 2025, the province's socio-economic situation continued to achieve many positive results. The economy maintained a stable growth momentum; cultural, sports and tourism activities were organized enthusiastically and diversely, notably the series of events during Quang Binh Tourism Week 2025. People's health care and social security continued to be focused on, contributing to improving people's lives. Notably, the total of State budget revenue by the end of May reached more than 3,400 billion VND, equivalent to 52.4% of the central budget estimate and 49.2% of the local budget estimate, an increase over the same period in 2024. The disbursement of public investment capital, land fund development and assignment of land use fee collection targets were implemented synchronously and effectively. Political security and social order and safety continued to be maintained.
At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and analyzing existing problems and difficulties and proposed many solutions to effectively implement key tasks in June and the whole year 2025.
Speaking at the meeting, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested departments, branches and localities to continue to strictly implement administrative discipline and order; resolutely and effectively implement tasks and targets to ensure economic growth of 8% or more in 2025; proactively implement and coordinate tasks according to sectors and management fields to prepare for the merger of provincial-level administrative units; implement the arrangement of Party organizations and functional agencies in sync with the merger of provincial-level administrative units, build a 2-level local government organization model and arrange the administrative organization of agencies according to Decision No. 758/QD-TTg dated April 14, 2025 of the Prime Minister; do not let the arrangement of organizations and apparatus disrupt the operations of agencies, units, production and business activities of enterprises, people's lives and socio-economic development tasks in the area. In addition, he also assigned specific tasks to each sector and field, including the requirement to promote the disbursement of public investment capital, remove obstacles for key projects; complete the housing support program for people with meritorious services; prepare for the Summer - Fall crop production; urgently complete the dossier to adjust the Quang Binh Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; ensure the safe and serious organization of the 10th grade entrance exam and high school graduation exam; strengthen digital transformation, prevent and control epidemics, improve the effectiveness of tourism promotion and linkage, protect intellectual property rights and fight against smuggling, etc.
The Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also assigned specific tasks to the Provincial People's Committee Office to proactively monitor and urge assigned tasks according to sectors and fields; at the same time, proactively advise the Provincial People's Committee leaders to direct the timely and effective implementation of tasks, focusing on urgent and important tasks that affect the general management activities of the province.
