Quang Binh Province promotes tourism and investment in Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic

(Quang Binh Portal) - On June 3 (local time) in the Czech Republic, the working delegation from Quang Binh Province participated in a meeting with the authorities of Karlovy Vary Province. 

Overview of the meeting

This event is one of the key activities under the Program for Promoting Vietnamese Localities in the Czech Republic and the Kingdom of Belgium, organized by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy - Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in coordination with the Vietnamese Embassies in those countries and the People’s Committees of the provinces and cities: Quang Binh, Bac Lieu, Vinh Long, Hue, and Phu Yen.

The delegation from Quang Binh Province was led by Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Doan Ngoc Lam. The delegation also included Standing Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Council Nguyen Cong Huan; Provincial Party Member, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Thuy; and representatives of leaders from the Office of the Provincial People’s Committee, Department of Finance, and Department of Science and Technology.

The meeting was also attended by Mr. Nguyen Dong Trung from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Cultural Diplomacy - Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Viet Nam to the Czech Republic Duong Hoai Nam. From Karlovy Vary authorities, Mayor of Karlovy Vary City, Ms. Andrea Pfeffer Ferklová, along with members of the Karlovy Vary regional council attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Doan Ngoc Lam introduced the province’s potential, strengths, and sustainable development orientation; development pillars; and priority sectors for attracting investment. He proposed that the Karlovy Vary authorities collaborate and cooperate in promoting tourism, attracting investment, applying science and technology, and fostering innovation. He emphasized particularly the exchange of experience and cooperation in developing resort tourism, cultural tourism, the cultural industry, and building film location destinations.

Mayor of Karlovy Vary Andrea Pfeffer Ferklová highly appreciated the attention and interest shown by Vietnamese localities and expressed her hope that both sides would achieve effective cooperation and coordination in the future, especially in connection with the activities of the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic and Europe. 

Karlovy Vary is a well-developed tourist city in the Czech Republic and is considered a global cinematic capital, as well as a leading spa town in the world, known for its hot springs, accommodations, and modern infrastructure.

From June 4 to June 13, the Quang Binh delegation will continue to conduct tourism and investment promotion and cooperation activities in the Czech Republic, Belgium, and Switzerland, with many significant agendas.
