Cuban people keep General Giap’s image forever: Raul Castro
First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba’s Central Committee, President of the State Council and Council of Ministers, General Raul Castro has sent his condolences to Vietnamese Party, State and Government leaders over the death of General Vo Nguyen Giap.
The Cuban leader said the Party, Government and people of Cuba share the sorrow and the loss of Vietnam at the passing away of the legendary fighter who struggled for freedom of Vietnam and who is a close friend of Cuba.
He also affirmed that the Cuban people will forever keep the image of General Giap with profound admiration and respect, and the Cuban revolutionary armed forces will always treasure invaluable contributions by the general to Cuba’s military doctrine.
The Cuban leader further said the image of the revolutionary fighter General Vo Nguyen Giap will remain forever in the heart of the Cuban people as a noble demonstration of the historical friendship between Cuba and Vietnam.
