     Poverty reduction is a meaningful and great policy of the Party and State, expressing the humanitarian tradition of our nation from old days to now. Implementing the policy of the Party and State, since October 17 2000, the Presidium of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front has mobilized the whole people to respond the campaign "Day for poor people" nationwide. The campaign has been actively responded by the whole people and overseas compatriots and achieved good results.

     Over the past years, the campaign "Day for poor people" in Quang Binh province has been paid much attention of all levels of the Party and governments, warm response of organizations, unions, departments, enterprises and people in and out province. So far, the total mobilized fund has been estimated at over VND55 billion and hundreds of billion extracted from the State budget to build and repair 8,640 houses for poor households in the first phase. However, the whole province has so far remained 24.72% poor households, of which 4,195 needy households who are living in temporary houses and need to be helped.

     In order to continue to implement the campaign "Day for poor people", building "great unity" house and improving the housing problem for near-poverty households in the second phase, the Standing Board of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Binh province launched a movement to call upon donations of all soldiers, armed forces, cadres, civil-servants and laborers, enterprises, economic organizations, fellow-countrymen and benefactors in and out province, bringing into play the solidarity and humanitarian tradition, actively responding and donating to Fund for the poor, contributing to helping the poor overcome the difficulties and building Quang Binh motherland to become more and more prosperous.
