The broad-brimmed cap has the diameter of 8m and the circumference of 27m and is made of fabric material and iron. Over 200kg of iron is used for making the cap's frame and rim, 200 square meters of khaki fabric material is used for making the cap's cover. This large-sized cap is carried out by the staffs of the Cultural and Ecological Tourist Centre of the Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park and the Quang Binh Viettel within six days and completed on the occasion of the 119th anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and the 50th anniversary of the opening of Truong Son Trail May 19.

With the goal to educate the tradition for young generation of the glorious feat of arms as well as the great losses and sacrifices of a generation of Uncle Ho's soldiers and thousands of young volunteers who sacrificed their youth and life on the Truong Son Trail for the cause of national liberation and unification, the broad-brimmed cap will be displayed from now to late August 2009 to serve foreign and domestic tourists.
