Provincial People's Committee had a talk with the delegation of Vietnamese - German development cooperation on expanding the biodiversity project

(Quang Binh Website) - On Feb 14, the Provincial People's Committee had a talk with a delegation of Viet - German development cooperation on expanding the biological project. Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Van Tuan presided over the talk.

At the talk, the delegation said that the working trip aimed studying and defining the ability of Quang Binh to deal with new challenges for biodiversity conservation and improving the livelihood of local people in the disadvantage context of climate changes through designing strategy on expanding the groups of technical cooperation project on biological diversity.

Concurrently, the delegation also stressed that the working trip's main task was to build up the consecutive ideas for the project on "Nature Conservation and Sustainable Management of Natural Resources in the Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park Region"; evaluate and specify the content of the project on "biodiversity conservation of forest ecosystem in Vietnam" and define the ability of adjusting the approach of the project; build up the strategy on expanding the groups of technical cooperation project on biological diversity with the focus on biodiversity and climate.

Addressing the talk, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his delight to the working trip of delegation and highly evaluated cooperation and investment of German government for Quang Binh, especially the project in buffer zone of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park.

This project plays an important role to development of ecotourism in the region, increasing the awareness and improving the life for local people in the buffer zone, contributing to biodiversity conservation of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Vice Chairman said.

Vice Chairman stressed that the provincial People's Committee will focus on direction and creating all favorable conditions for the project on sustainable development of natural resources in Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Region to accelerate the progress and achieve high efficiency.

Through the projects, Vice Chairman expressed his hope that the world natural heritage site, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park will be further conserved and developed.
