Thanks to the timely and positive guiding of all levels, agencies and localities, the province’s socio-economic situation in the past time obtained remarkable results. Concretely, cultivated areas for winter-spring rice were estimated reaching 50,239 ha, increasing by 1.6% against the same period. Wood cut production achieved 7,539 cubic meters; area under forestation was 1,200 ha. The caught aquatic production reached 2,041.4 tons. Index of industrial production was estimated increasing by 33.2%. The total retail sales of goods and services were estimated at VND1,086.6 billion, increasing by 85.4% against last month and increasing by 26.5% against the same period. As estimated, the number of visitors to Quang Binh reached 64.9 thousand, increasing by 7.3% against last month, of which international arrivals reached 2.5 thousand, increasing by 1.7% against same period last year. A lot of big changes have been seen in cultural and social fields, political security, social safety and order, and border security.

Addressing the meeting, Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Xuan Quang asked all levels, agencies and localities to focus on directing agricultural production, especially prevention of pestilent insect for winter-spring rice and control of epidemic diseases for cattle and poultry; strengthening offshore fishing activities and improving the quality of aquaculture; preventing and strictly dealing with cases involved to exploiting, trafficking and transporting illegal wildlife.

In the future, all agencies should create favorable conditions for the enterprises to solve difficulties in their production and business; pay attention to investment promotion for the province's key projects in 2012; speed up site clearances for construction of the Quang Trach I thermo-electric center project and Dong hoi City environmental sanitation project.
