Mobilize all resource to complete Second Rural Energy Project

According to the report of the project management board, the project’s first phase with a total investment of over VND113 billion was completed and put into use in February of 2010 in 30/30 communes in five districts of Le Thuy, Quang Binh, Quang Trach, Bo Trach and Tuyen Hoa.
The RE II project’s second phase is to rehabilitate, upgrade and newly build the rural low voltage grid for 30 communes in 5 districts of Quang Trach (11 communes), Tuyen Hoa (03 communes), Quang Ninh (03 communes), Bo Trach (06 communes) and Le Thuy (06 communes). The project has total investment of over VND 212 billion with the length of low voltage grid of over 506km. So far, the project has been put into use in 100% of communes benefited from the REII project.
The DEP project in Quang Binh with a total investment of over VND 151 billion is carried out in 41 communes and wards of Minh Hoa, Tuyen Hoa, Quang Trach and Bo Trach districts, and Dong Hoi city. The objective of the project is to newly build and upgrade more than 295km of medium voltage line and 383 transformer stations. The DEP project’s duration is expected to complete and put into use in December of 2014.
Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Xuan Quang highly appreciated the efforts made by the ministries and central agencies, and international organizations to upgrade and build electricity network in Quang Binh, especially low voltage grid in rural areas.
Vice Chairman asked relevant departments in coordination with the REII and DEP projects to deal with difficulties and ensure the implementation progress as scheduled plan.
