Truong Son forestation yard under the Long Dai Forestry and Industry Company is one of five forestry units which are selected by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to build up the pilot project on sustainable forest management under the support of the "Promotion of sustainable management of natural forest and marketing of important forest products in Vietnam" which is in the framework of technical cooperation program between Vietnam and Germany.

GIZ supported technical cooperation project has been carried out at Truong Son forestation yard since 2006 and is expected to end in September of 2014.

During the project implementation process, Truong Son forestation yard has achieved good results and received certification of sustainable forest management according to the FSC standard.

The implementation of sustainable forest management required as the FSC standard not only helps forest economic development, but also protect forest environment and create positive social impacts on the local people's life.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice chairman of the provincial People's Committee Tran Van Tuan expressed his belief in good future for relationship between Vietnam and Germany, especially the support of German government to the forestry sector of Vietnam in general and of Quang Binh in particular.

He hoped that in the forthcoming, Quang binh would continue receiving the assistance of German government in expert and techniques through the specific programs and projects.
