Nearly 50,000 offered incense in tribute to General Vo Nguyen Giap at Vung Chua area during the first five days of the Year

(Quang Binh Portal) - The guard team at General Vo Nguyen Giap’s grave in Vung Chua, Quang Trach district, said that during the first five days of the Year of the Goat (February 19-23), over 50,000 people visited the General’s grave in the Vung Chua area, Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district. Specially, on Fer 22, more than 1,5 thousand people and in the morning on Fer 23, more than 8,000 thousand people to the General’s grave in tribute to the eldest brother of the Vietnam People’s Army and an eminent person of the nation.


Thousands of people offer flowers and incense at the General’s grave

During these days, the Guard team at General Vo Nguyen Giap’s grave has strengthened the guard forces surrounding the resting place of the General to ensure the safety for visitors and the absolute security at the grave of General Vo Nguyen Giap, while civil forces have been present at several spots to guide visitors.

Before, representative of the General's family, Mrs Vo Hoa Binh and Mrs Vo Hanh Phuc, two daughter of the General visited to offer incense to General Vo Nguyen Giap.

Reportedly, since the day General Vo Nguyen Giap had chosen his resting place in Quang Binh, more than 140,000 groups with 1.6 million people nationwide have paid a visit to the General's grave in tribute to the eldest brother of the Vietnam People’s Army and an eminent person of the nation.
