Quang Tri Signs Memorandum of Understanding with K-Market Vietnam

On the afternoon of August 20, 2026, the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee held a working session and signed a Memorandum of Understanding with K-Market Vietnam. Attending the meeting from Quang Tri Province were Mr. Hoang Nam, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, along with representatives of provincial departments, agencies, and businesses. Representing K-Market Vietnam were Mr. Ko Sang Goo, Chairman of K-Market Vietnam, and members of the delegation.

K-Market is a chain of supermarkets and convenience stores in Vietnam, with more than 150 outlets nationwide, specializing in Korean food and consumer products. Following several visits and working trips to Quang Tri, K-Market has expressed interest in the province's potential agricultural products and its desire to introduce Quang Tri agricultural products into its supermarket network, while gradually expanding opportunities to export them to the South Korean market.

Speaking at the working session, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Hoang Nam said that cooperation between Quang Tri and K-Market has gradually evolved from networking, field surveys, and discussions to concrete coordination on products, standards, and markets. Quang Tri Province wishes to further expand cooperation with K-Market by linking development support resources with production and market access, thereby contributing to improving the value and competitiveness of local agricultural products.

Mr. Ko Sang Goo, Chairman of K-Market Vietnam, highly valued and emphasized the importance of the cooperative relationship with Quang Tri Province. He said that the province's agricultural products have significant potential for development and market expansion. As an initial step, K-Market has selected Quang Tri's organic rice to be introduced into its supermarket network. Mr. Ko Sang Goo expressed his hope that cooperation between the two sides will be implemented on a larger scale in the coming period, bringing an increasing number of Quang Tri agricultural products to domestic consumers and international markets through the K-Market network.

At the working session, the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee and K-Market Vietnam signed a Memorandum of Understanding, officially establishing a framework for cooperation and implementing activities to connect markets, promote the consumption of, and develop the province's agricultural products.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the two sides agreed to strengthen cooperation in expanding markets for Quang Tri's specialty products through K-Market's distribution network. They will also coordinate to improve product quality, develop brands, expand processing and logistics, and broaden export markets for local products.

Overview of the working session

The Memorandum of Understanding takes effect from the date of signing and remains valid for three years. In the event of early termination or extension, the two sides will reach a written agreement.
