Speed up progress of solar power supply project

The project aims to provide and build the solar power system for 55 hamlets and villages in 10 mountain communes that do not have access to electricity from the national grid. The total capital of the project is nearly US$13.8 million, of which US$12 million from the economic development and cooperation fund of Korea Eximbank, the remainder is coresponding capital.
Accordingly, the project is divided into seven contract packages, of which there are two main packages, including the package No.2 (consulting services) and the package No.7 (construction and equipment). Up to now, the progress and reimbursement of the project have delayed against the plan set out in the loan agreement. The main reason for this delay is that the problem is in the selection of contractors for the package No.7.
At the meeting, the project steering board focused on discussing and proposing solutions to accelerate the progress of implementing the package No.7.
In conclusion, Permanent Vice Chairman Nguyen Xuan Quang stressed the great significance and importance of the solar power supply project to socio-economic development of the province and highly appreciated its results obtained in the past time.
In order to speed up the progress of implementing the project, Permanent Vice Chairman said that the project management unit need to work out a specific action plan, pay attendtion to selecting competent contractors to carry out the package No.7; closely coordinate with the Department of Resources and Environment and districts to carry out land reclaimation and site clearance, creating favorable conditions to implement the project.
