Attach special importance to foreign investment attraction

(Quang Binh Portal) – Determining the importance of foreign investment attraction in socio-economic development and poverty alleviation, in the six beginning months of 2015, Quang Binh province has made great efforts to strengthen investment promotion and call for investment from corporations and enterprises in Busan and Seoul (the Republic of Korea); exchange and promote cooperation on glass production with localities in the Republic of Czech and Azerbaijan.
Besides, the province has also held many meetings with big corporations such as MCHI Nave, Bombay Finace (India), POSCO and Dohwa (the Republic of Korea), a mission of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ha Noi and enterprises from Taiwan with the aim of sharing experience and boosting cooperation and investment.

The province’s foreign investment attraction has seen a lot of positive changes. So far, investors from RoK have conducted surveys to build resorts, golf course and wood processing plant.

In addition, the provincce has also granted Certificate of Investment to establish the Hon La – Khammouane Oil One-member Company with a total investment of 1 milion USD for construction of a bonded warehouse and oil pipeline system from Hon La Seaport (Quang Binh) to Khammouane province (Laos). The province has approved the operational planning and budget estimate for 7 ODA projects with a realized volume of over VND222 billion.

The province has mobilised aids from international organizations, embassies, non-governmental organizations (NGO) and foreign individuals to implement programs and projects. From early year to now, the province has received 6 NGO projects with a total pledged capital of 968,700 USD, focusing on solving social affairs (4 projects), healthcare, education and training, bringing a practical effectiveness, helping poverty reduction and socio-economic development of the province.

In the coming time, Quang Binh will focus on calling for investment and cooperation from RoK, Japan, India and Czech to draw foreign direct investment; actively mobilising international organizations and NGOs to implement the supporting projects in the province.
