Enhance capacity for women to make climate change responses
A talk to share experience and summarize the project on enhancing capacity for women to make climate change responses
The project on enhancing capacity for women to make climate change responses was carried out in the four districts of Le Thuy, Bo Trach, Tuyen Hoa and Quang Trach from July of 2013 to November of 2016.
After three years of operation, the project has contributed to improve knowledge and skills for key staffs and communal-level propagandists in disaster risk management and mitigation at the community, gradually changing behaviours of women and community in disaster adaptation.
The project opened training courses to enhance capacity for 160 local propagandists on alleviating and managing disaster risks; established the technical supporting groups and communal-level community groups to prevent natural disasters, attracting the participation of 1,600 women; strengthened propaganda on mass media on impacts of climate change and disaster prevention at household level and dealing with accidents and casualties in the disaster.
At the talk, participations delivered their speeches, discussed and shared experience in the process of implementing the project on enhancing capacity for women to make climate change responses, and contributed their ideas to the operational plan after the project.
